Spring decor: make the most of your decorative electric fireplace!
No, no, no, the fireplace isn’t just for winter!
It’s a decorative element in its own right, which can evolve either by integrating it into the décor, or by embellishing it according to its configuration. Like a console or window sill, the mantel can be used to create original compositions, with a wealth of objects such as frames, knick-knacks, candlesticks and plants. The mantel should be conceived as a space that can evolve according to your desires and finds.
In our 2016 collection, you’ll find all our models, plus some new ones that are particularly well-suited to becoming the
little theater of surprising decors.
We’re thinking in particular of our models like Design Fire Style, our electric wood-burning stove, which can also be used as a side table and is completely mobile.
The Manhattan model features a mantle, and its sleek lines will support any decorating whim. It’s quite a respectable size, which also makes it a lovely focal point to magnify!
So how do you go about decorating your fireplace?
If you don’t have logs, that’s no reason to evoke wood! The Chemin’Arte style team has spotted a few trends in wall coverings that are perfectly suited to a cosy sitting area, in the spirit of wood and nature, between cabin spirit and Scandinavian style.
Wood-effect wallpaper : a total look on the wall or a single strip on one side of the mantelpiece, it’s guaranteed to set the mood.
Also spotted on the web and in magazines are PVC wallpapers and panelling that play on trompe l’oeil with a highly successful aged board effect.
If you’re afraid of getting bored, here’s a tip: opt for single-strip wallpaper and simply fix it in place with special Deco Patafix (available in department stores). The illusion will be perfect, and you’ll be able to change your decor whenever you feel like it.
Under the stove or at the foot of the fireplace: delimit the floor! A cement tile rug, a carpet and you’ve got a starry stove! For our floor-mounted electric fireplaces, here’s an idea that reinforces the illusion: decorate as you would a real fireplace! The effect is guaranteed. The same goes for the fire screen: take inspiration from real fireplaces and find an antique fire screen to place in front of the mantelpiece.
For larger mantels, go for excess and don’t hesitate to play with accumulation and imposing sizes. We’ve fallen for this bright, springtime composition, perfect for a spring evening.
Candles, candles, candles! Mix the real with the fake! You can also place candles of all sizes in front of and on the mantelpiece for an ultra-warm and glamorous effect.
Alternatively, and always with the idea of accumulation in mind, choose candleholders and candleholders of different shapes and sizes, but stick to a single color. Theatrical effect guaranteed!
Of course, the mirror remains the undisputed star of mantelpieces. But while in the past, a single, imposing mirror was the norm, today all options are possible. The only rule is that mirrors must occupy at least the height of the mantel and no less than 2/3 of its width. Once you’ve defined your wall surface: be creative, be creative! and above all, treat yourself!
